President
Bert Miller called the meeting to order.
We had 16 members in attendance. We are trying to come up with ideas to
get more people involved in the meetings as well as club functions so stay
tuned. If you have any ideas feel free to share them.
The
club would like to congratulate Sarah Miller for tying for 1st place
in Wyoming State Snowmobile Association’s Scholarship competition. She was
awarded $1500 from WSSA.
Your
club officers are: Bert Miller – President, Mike Kelly – Vice President, Michelle
Young – Treasurer, and Brenda Miller – Secretary.
Your board members are: Brad Rick, Mike Kelly,
Bert Miller, Rob Marshall and Bryce Carroll.
Unfortunately
the Senior Cookout was cancelled this year due to Shreve Lodge still being
under construction. We are going to try to plan something for this next spring
at another location. If you have any suggestions feel free to share your ideas
with any of the officers or board members.
As
you may or may not recall we are now referring to the Warming Hut as a Safety
Shelter. So, cleaning of the Safety Shelter needs to be scheduled. This year we
will need to make any necessary repairs which probably will include painting
the inside this year as well as redoing the floor. We also need to restock with
supplies, a new first aid kit and stock it with wood. We also need to make a
change to our sponsorship sign. Bert will check with Bill Nielson on the wood.
We will also check with Ken George Trucking on their availability next month to
haul the warming hut up the mountain. We are still in search of a larger
trailer to use for a Safety Shelter so if you have any contacts please let
either Mike Kelly, Tony Simek or Bert Miller know.
Carol
Higbie volunteered to call club members this year to remind you about club
meetings and any other functions. If you
don’t want to be called just let her know the first time she calls and she will
remove you from the “call” list. Thanks Carol.
Fall
Highway cleanup has been scheduled for this Sunday, October 11th at
9 a.m. at the game check station pull out. Miller’s will pick up the vests
& bags from the Highway Department. Hope to see you there. The more people
we have helping the sooner we will finish. We will have another meeting before
then so we will be reminding people at our next meeting.
Ski-doo
has announced a Million Dollar Club Support Program. The program consists of
filling out a “Club Support Donation Certificate” and dropping it off at your
local Ski-doo dealer between September 1st and November 15th. Our
club can receive $10 for every certificate turned in up to $1500. Bert has
spoken to Dustin at Roger’s Sport Center about this program and Dustin
encourages the club to participate in the program. I have included a copy of
the certificate, feel free to make a copy or go out to www.ski-doo.com and print an additional copy
to give to fellow snowmobilers. This would be a great way for the club to get
additional funds.
We
would like to congratulate Dustin and Jenni Rosencranse (Roger’s Sport Center) for
their recent acquisition of the Polaris and Kawasaki franchises. They are in
the process of remodeling their store to make room for their new products. When
they are done they should have a showroom full of products from SkiDoo, Honda, CanAM, Polaris and
Kawasaki. We wish you the very best and also want to thank you for the support
you give to the Cody club and our community.
Debbie
Kelly won $15 in the 50/50 raffle. She requested the club portion to be
designated for the Scholarship account. Remember you have to be present to win.
Our
next meeting will be on October 7th at 6:30 p.m. at the Search and Rescue
Hall. We will have a carry-in dinner. Hope to see you there.
