November Newsletter

President Bert Miller called the meeting to order.  We had 14 members in attendance.

We have sold the cooling unit off of our new safety shelter trailer. We are also planning on leaving the new trailer open for quite some time to try and get it aired out.  This season we are also planning on printing some new signs to go inside the safety shelter letting people know that we have a bigger & better safety shelter planned for next year and we would appreciate donations.

Remember the Ski Doo forms are due by November 15th to the dealer.

Memberships paid to date: General Members (59) – 46 currently paid which is 78%

Associate Members (28) – 17 currently paid which is 61%

The club will make our charitable donations to 7 different organizations/individuals. We will donate $200 to Search & Rescue, WPH Hospice House, Holiday Helpers, & The Community Thanksgiving Dinner. We will also donate $100 each to the Search Dogs - Kris Brock, Chris Cooper (High Country Search Dogs) & KT Irwin (Northwest K-9).

The Christmas parade will be November 28th at 6 p.m. this is the Saturday the weekend after Thanksgiving. The club has decided that we will do the same float that we had designed last year since the parade was canceled last year. We will use Mike Kelly’s company trailer & truck and will meet at Webster Motors shop at 10 a.m. that morning to do the decorating. Remember this is another chance to get your name in the hat to win prizes at the end of the season.

There has been some discussion again about the possibility of plowing the road into Cooke City again at Cody Club. Colin Simpson requested that the discussion be tabled until they were able to get representation from all sides. There is a group of about 50 people or so that would like to see this happen. Bert has met with Kimberly Jones – Cody Chamber Executive director & discussed the ramifications. They are working on trying to get a Q & A session together to discuss the issue we will notify you when this is suppose to take place so that we are able to get representation from the snowmobiler’s side. The more of us that show up to these types of discussions the better.

Mike Kelly won $10.50 in the 50/50 raffle. He donated his winnings back to the club and requested all of the money be deposited into the Scholarship account. Remember you have to be present to win.

Our next meeting will be on December 2nd at 6:30 p.m. at the Search and Rescue Hall. We will have a pot-luck dinner again. Hope to see you there.
