January Newsletter
We
had 17 people at our meeting this month. We would sure like to see more members
join us.
We
received thank you cards from all of the K-9 Search & Rescue dogs that we
made charitable donations to before the holidays. They also sent pictures of
their dogs be sure to check out the pics on our
website and watch for them in the next Wrangler as well. They really appreciate
our help.
We
will be marking trails on Saturday January 23rd and if you are available
to help pack trails anytime between now and then please contact Tony Simek or
Mike Kelly. We will probably put up our beacon checker on this weekend as well.
The snow is getting better but we can sure use more. We have also had reports
that the snow is pretty good in the Big Horns as well.
If
you have any of the raffle tickets from WSSA I hope your sales are going well.
We will need to collect your tickets at our club meeting in March so that we
can turn them in to WSSA at Fun Days the first weekend
in March. However, you can always turn them in early to Bert if you wish.
We
will be voting on our awards at our February meeting. We will be voting for
Snowmobiler of the Year, Youth Snowmobiler of the Year, Family of the Year, and
Dealer of the Year. Our groomer is Sam Taylor.
Our
awards dinner will be Friday February 19th in the Governor’s room at
the Irma. You will have a choice of a beef entrée (10 oz. Rib Eye Steak –
cooked medium) and a chicken entrée (Chicken Cordon Bleu). The entrée also
includes a salad, potato, vegetable, dessert and beverage (excluding alcohol)
for $18/ea. Kids (10 and under) will be offered chicken tenders for $6. We need
to have our reservation numbers turned in to the Irma by Monday February 15th,
no later. If you plan to attend please let me know how many people and what
your entrée choice is. We will have members pay the club and then the club can
write a single check to the Irma. We are really hoping to have a great turnout
for our banquet, please consider joining us. We will have a chili feed at the
Safety Shelter/Warming Hut on Saturday February 20th. Chili donated
by Jenni Rosencranse. Hope to see you on the Mountain as well.
Remember
to make your reservations for Fun Days in Jackson. This is a great time.
Scholarship applications are due by February 1st. CCSA scholarship
applications are also due at that time. Applications for state awards are due
by February 15th.
We
have taken pictures of our new Safety Shelter/Warming Hut and made a sign to
put up in our current Safety Shelter/Warming Hut to let people know that next
year we will have a “Bigger & Better” building next year. Check out the
poster on our website in the photo album section.
Carol
Higbie won $18 in our 50/50 raffle. She donated her winnings back to the club
and requested the money be added to the scholarship funds.
Our
next meeting will be February 3rd at 6:30 p.m. at the Search and Rescue
Hall. We will have carry-in.
