Cody Country Snowmobile Association

December Newsletter

President Bert Miller called the meeting to order.  We had 17 members in attendance.

First of all we would like to thank all of you who filled out the Ski Doo forms. It was reported that our club had 46 forms that were filled out and turned in to Roger’s Sport Center. That is $460 for our club. How cool is that?

WSSA has sent “Multiple Use Trails for Winter Recreation Facts and Myths about Snowmobiling” booklets to the club. Copies of these booklets have been given to all of the County Commissioners, Colin Simpson, Kimberly Jones (Chamber Director) and we are waiting to hear back from Representative Dave Bonner so that we can get him a copy of the booklet. If you know of any other public figures that we should give these booklets to or if you would like a copy we have extras available.

Memberships paid to date:             General Members (62) – 54 currently paid which is 87%

Associate Members (28) – 22 currently paid which is 79%

We had a great turnout to decorate our float for the Christmas Parade. 1st prize went to Park County Boys & Girls Club ($100), 2nd prize went to CCSA ($75) and 3rd prize went to First National Bank ($50). The club will be purchasing some LED Christmas lights with our winnings. They are brighter and take less power to run maybe we will have even more lights on our float next year.

It appears that the State has decided that they won’t have a road plow based in the Crandall area this year the plowing of the road will be based out of Cody instead.  The Chief Joseph highway is classified as a Class 3 road which means that it will get plowed after other roads in the county are plowed. So far it doesn’t seem like they are doing a very good job. Hopefully as winter rolls in they will pick up the pace with getting the road plowed.

We have received our raffle tickets from the state. We have 300 tickets to sell and if we need more we can get more. If you would like to sell tickets you can get some from Bert just give him a call. If you don’t want to sell any then you can contact any of the officers and we can get you as many tickets as you would like.

We have tentatively scheduled our awards dinner for Friday February 19th. We will have chili on the mountain the next day.

As of Sunday December 6th the Safety Shelter is now open. See you on the mountain.

Jenni Rosencranse won $18 in the 50/50 raffle. Remember you must be present to win.

Our next meeting will be on January 6th at 6:30 p.m. at the Search and Rescue Hall. We will have a pizza.
