The club would
like to congratulate Tony Simek on being the first
recipient of the new State Trails Award at Fun Days. This is very deserved for
all the things Tony has done with the State Trails program and for our club as
well.
There will be a
Forest Service informational meeting this Friday, April 16th from
1-3 at the Park County Library. Please attend if possible.
Bert has been
invited to attend a Yellowstone Business Council meeting in Jackson on May 25th.
This meeting is a discussion on the future of Yellowstone National Park in the
winter as well as the possibility of plowing the road from Cooke City into
Wyoming.
The winners of the
club function attendance drawing were: 1st prize – Sarah Miller, she
will have her choice of a Klim Coat or Klim bibs. 2nd prize – Justin
Kelly, he will have his choice of the Klim Adrenaline boot or Klim Transition
shoe, and 3rd prize - Michelle Young, she will have her choice of
Klim gloves, a Klim gear bag or a Klim hoodie.
Your club officers
for this next season are: President – Bert Miller, Vice President-Gene Kelly,
Secretary-Brenda Miller, and Treasurer-Michelle Young. We will also have a new
Board of Director – Justin Kelly.
At the request of
the Wyoming State Trails, all of the trail markers have been pulled for this
season.
Highway cleanup is
scheduled for Sunday June 6th. Meet at 9 a.m. at the pullout where
the game check station is located in the fall.
Carol Higbie won
$13.50 in our 50/50 raffle and donated her winning back to the club requesting
the funds be put into the scholarship fund. Remember, you have to be present to
win.
The club will meet
on Wednesday, May 5th at Marshall’s Auto Body and will begin working
on the new Safety Shelter as
well as begin the discussions on organizing Fun Days. We hope you are able to
join us in remodeling our new Safety Shelter and/or helping with the planning
of Fun Days.
Our scheduled club
meetings will resume next fall on September 8th at 6:30 in the
basement of the Search and Rescue Hall.
